Frequently asked

Pregnancy Care: quick answers

When should I book my first pregnancy visit?

As soon as you have a positive test, ideally in the first six to eight weeks. An early scan confirms the pregnancy is healthy and well placed, and sets up the right care schedule.

What makes a pregnancy high risk?

Factors like age, diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, twins or a history of pregnancy loss can add risk. These pregnancies do very well with closer monitoring, which is exactly what high-risk care provides.

Will I be able to have a normal delivery?

Wherever it is safe, yes. The aim is always the healthiest outcome for you and your baby, and a caesarean is recommended only when it is genuinely the safer route.
